About Our School
Rambling Rose Schoolhouse was established in the Summer of 2026. After four years of hybrid schooling through our public charter, we struck off on our own to establish our own way of doing school, to tailor it to our own child’s learning style. We use a combination of structure, tangible manipulatives, and visual representation to help provide a foundation for a creative learning environment that was missing in our public-school experience. We comply with all our state’s requirements to do a private homeschool. We provide Language Arts, Math, Science, History, Physical Education, and we also partake in various extracurricular classes that add to our family’s homeschool experience.
We have experience teaching through various avenues (both online, and in-person workshops). Our extended family is composed of graphic designers, engineers, historians, artists, and professional printers who can provide real-world experience to compliment our homeschool style.
About The Blog
This blog was created as a way to share our personal resources with other homeschoolers, graphic artists, and designers. We have a vast library of original historical periodicals and images.
Our Personal Outlook on Art, History, and Faith
We believe human expression, including those forgotten in the depths of personal historical archives, are worthy of admiration and should not be lost to time. In the age of Artificial Intelligence, we greatly appreciate the talents of people who came before us. Because of this, no images we share here are A.I. generated. We cherish the handcrafts and art of those who came before us.
Even though we truly appreciate the aesthetic and artistry of days past, we know enough about history to not believe in “the good old days.” We believe we can learn great things from the past, while living confidently in the present. We do not romanticize the past here, but we appreciate the past arts-and-crafts of those who came before us. In fact, the images and articles supplied here can provide a great jumping-off point for candid conversations with your child about history and our changing attitudes to difficult subjects. With all good there can be bad, and we believe children are more adept at comprehending these nuances than we give them credit for.
Although our personal faith is Christian, we cherish and open our arms, and this blog, to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. You may occasionally see bible verses and other Christian content, but the majority of our library is secular and can easily be used by anyone who enjoys them. We happily have many close friends who have vastly different belief systems than our own, and we appreciate that we can support each other, regardless of our differences.
